AppleGlot
Apple primary text translation tool. Extracts text strings from resources and puts them into a text file (perfect for contracting out translations). It simplifies software updates by leveraging off of old translations. It was developed by Doug Scott, in the Int'l SW Support Tools group at Apple. AppleGlot has been on the market for six years and is currently being used by many Localizers around the world. GlotEdit is another MAC localization tool that allows editing of all the text that has been extracted from the files by AppleGlot (currently known as Work Glossaries and Application databases). The use of this tool minimizes translation errors. In the future, this tool will be the front-end of AppleGlot engine.
